Tsukiji fish market, Akihabara and Edo-Tokyo museum

We explored Tokyo with friendly Aussie family.

We met at the hotel in Ginza. Ginza is located in the center of Tokyo, and it is easy to go to many attractive spots for tourists.

Tsukiji Fish Market

We took a walk to Tsukiji. There is a famous fish market. It is the biggest in Japan. Japanese eat a lot of fish and other seafood. We could see fish, Japanese traditional food made of seafood, and people who work there.

Sushi Lunch

Do you like sushi? Sushi is a typical Japanese food which includes rice and raw fish. When we eat raw fish, freshness is very important. So that, sushi restaurants around Tsukiji fish market are ideal. We had sushi for lunch. Tuna and salmon were especially preferred by the family. However, salmon roe and herring roe were not always good for people who are not used to eat raw fish.

Then, we moved to Akihabara.

Maid cafe

It is a unique cafe. The waitresses are costumed and play their role as if they are maid character in anime or manga. It's strange! And, It's a fun experience! It is not a place to enjoy drinks and food, but a place to enjoy fantasy. We enjoyed the situation very much.

Mandarake (the largest anime and manga shop)

"Mandarake" is known among Japanese local "otaku" (people who love such kinds of the hobby) as a place you can get everything there.  We explored total 8 floors(!) those are full of anime and manga books, magazines, DVDs and other related items. The Aussies were surprised because some of these collector's items were very expensive.

CLUB SEGA Akihabara new building

Game arcade is known as "Ge-Sen" in Japan. The word was generated from "Game Center". CLUB SEGA is a huge Ge-Sen. There are so many Prize games, Music games, and Video games. There is a latest VR game "MORTAL BLiTZ FOR WALKING ATTRACTION" on the top floor, but the waiting time for the game was 3 hours! It's amazing!!

Finally, we moved to Ryogoku by JR train.

Edo-Tokyo Museum

We can easily understand how people in Tokyo lived in the old era. There are some actual size models of old town and old residence. We feel as if we were in the samurai era. It is the best place to learn and enjoy Tokyo history.
