The imperial palace of Tokyo is the former Edo castle which was constructed in the 17th century. Unfortunately, the main tower was lost in the history.

Odawara city is located 80 km southwest of Tokyo. It’s a good place for a one day tour from Tokyo. There is the Odawara castle, which includes the main castle tower. The main tower was rebuilt in the 20th century with a modern technology, but the appearance is same as the traditional one. It’s big, beautiful and magnificent. The inside is the museum of the castle. You can learn the history of it.

Odawara is located on the way to Hakone, the famous hot spring resort. It’s a good idea to stop at the castle when you go to Hakone. It’s just 10 minutes on foot from the Odawara station.
