Fukagawa, Meiji-Jingu shrine, and local izakaya pub

I explored Tokyo with a gentleman from the United Kingdom.

Though it was a rainy and snowy day, our tour was very active.

Fukagawa Museum

First, we visited the Fukagawa Edo Museum.

It is a very good place to know the old traditional lifestyle of 200-300 years ago in Tokyo.

The Kiyosumi Garden

Then, we walked in the Kiyosumi garden.

It's a typical Japanese style garden.

The garden in the rain was very calm and relax.

Fukagawa Fudoudou temple

Our next destination was Fukagawa Fudoudou temple.

In the temple, we observed the secret fire ritual of the Shingon sect.

The ritual called Goma includes scripture casting, drums, bells and sacred fire.

It was very impressive for my guest.

After that, we had local Ten-Don lunch.

It's a bowl of rice topped with deep-fried shrimp and vegetables.

Meiji Jingu Shrine

In the afternoon we visited Meiji-Jingu shrine and Pachinko.

Pachinko is a Japanese gambling like a slot machine.

Izakaya Pub Restaurants

Finally, we went to a Japanese izakaya pub.

We enjoyed drinking beer and talking.

We talked a lot about each culture, history, language and so on.
