Asakusa, Ginza, Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku

Asakusa

I had a Tokyo tour with two young guests from Israel.

First, we went to the Senso-Ji temple in Asakusa. It is the oldest temple in Tokyo. We visited the main building where the Buddhism statue is worshipped. We took the procedure of washing hands and lips with sacred water before going to the main building same as local people do. After visiting the temple, we took a walk around Asakusa town. We ate a Taiyaki which is fish shape baked sweets, bean paste is in it.

Ginza

Our second destination is Ginza. We moved to Ginza by subway. Ginza is the most sophisticated shopping street. However, there are some reasonable stores such as UNIQLO. One of my guests bought a down jacket. She told that the UNIQLO down jacket is well known as light and warm in Israel. Though it's spring, they are selling some kinds of down jackets in their store. Colors and size variation are also enough.

Shibuya and Harajuku

Then, we went to Shibuya and Harajuku.

The Shibuya crossing and the Hachi-ko dog statue are very popular destinations for tourists. We visited "MEGA Don Quijote Shibuya", which is a big store they offer a variety of items at reasonable prices. I assisted their shopping.

Harajuku Takeshita-Dori street is always crowded with young people. There are many unique shops, boutiques, and cafes. We hung around the town.

Shinjuku

Finally, we visited Shinjuku. It's the largest district in Tokyo. There are many department stores, shops, restaurants and bar streets such as Golden-Gai town and Omoide-yokocho alley. We walked the main street known as Shinjuku-Odori and visited Isetan department store. Isetan is one of the most sophisticated department stores in Tokyo.

Today, we enjoyed traditional Asakusa district and almost all major modern Tokyo neighborhoods very much.
